Referees are People of the Year…

Congratulations to Chris Reynolds, Leinster Referee and Director of the Irish Coast Guard who accepted the People of the Year Award on behalf of the Coast Guard at the ceremony on Sunday night.

The Irish Coast Guard, the crew of Rescue 116, Caitríona Lucas and the community of Erris were honoured at the People of the Year Awards.

They were awarded in recognition of the heroic work by the men and women of the Irish Coast Guard who risk their lives to assist maritime and coastal communities, while the people of Erris were recognised for their contribution to the search for the missing crew of Rescue 116.

A very warm welcome to todays Match Official Jerome Garces and his team. Jerome is one of our favorite referees in the Leinster Rugby Referees and it is always a pleasure to see him back. He made his first full international appearance in 2010, after refereeing the 2009 Junior World Championship in Japan. During the 2014 Autumn Internationals Jerome took charge of the Cook Cup match between Australia and England at Twickenham. Jerome won notable praise from both coaches due to the high level of fitness he showed in the match.

We wish to extend warm congratulations to Joy Neville on her recent Pro 14 appointment. She added another piece of history to her already impressive CV when she took charge of Ulster’s 59-10 win over Southern Kings in the Guinness Pro14 at the Kingspan Stadium.
